Installation in a Gin Fizz

Here follow some photos, drawings and documentation for the installation of the autopilot in our Gin Fizz ketch sailboat. The variant was made by GibSea, and therefore the autopilot drive does fit under the aft beds.

In addition, we are currently installing a Quark-Elec QK-A032 NMEA0183 to 2000 (2K) and WiFi bridge. The idea is to connect the S3G autopilot (NMEA0183 and Seatalk) to the wind sensor (Garmin NMEA2000) and to follow waypoints set in the Garmin GPS 521 installed (all on NMEA 2000).

Here are the latest (and yet untested) data gathered, to get these things to talk to each other:

FROM RAYMARINE SUPPORT
- The S3G can take wind data (for steer to wind mode) and Waypoint (for GOTO) in via NMEA0183
- Baud Rate is 4800 Baud
- Cable connections on NMEA1 (main body of S3G autopilot)
- Autopilot S3G has RS232 connections.

if normal connection do not work, try:
Swap NMEA+ and NMEA-

If that does not work, Quark-Elec are recommending an RS232to RS422 bridge.
